Addressing domestic violence

For the current law, it is considered that:
Domestic violence is the commission of an offense against a family member, in accordance with Articles 6, 7, 8, and 9 of this law and Articles 299 and 311 of the Penal Code.
a. Family or community consisting of spouses or parents and first and second-degree blood or in-law relatives and their adopted children. b. The family includes, if they cohabit, blood or in-law relatives up to the fourth degree and individuals for whom their guardian, legal representative, or adopting parent is a member of the family, as well as any minor residing in the family.
Victim of domestic violence is any person from the previous paragraph against whom an offense is committed according to Articles 6, 7, 8, and 9 of this law. A victim is also a member of the family in which an offense has been committed according to Articles 299 and 311 of the Penal Code, as well as a minor under paragraph 2, against whom one of the offenses of this law is committed.
